Kevin “Kev” Jones: Your go-to guru

"A man can make what he wants of himself, if he truly believes that; he must be ready for hard work and many heartbreaks." – the Honorable Thurgood Marshall

Kev has dedicated his entire career to the art of communication, passionately weaving connections and sparking meaningful dialogue in the realms of government, politics, and business. His work as a public engagement strategist has not merely been a job; it’s been a heartfelt commitment to fostering understanding and collaboration, leaving an indelible mark on the communities he serves.

Kev, a native of Columbus, served as the communications lead for City Councilmember Nicholas J. Bankston, contributing to the creation of over 1,300 jobs and facilitating $1.86 billion in capital improvements during Bankston's first year in office. Driven by a commitment to equity, Kev also played a key role in launching initiatives such as the Ground Floor Growth Initiative, Accelerate Cbus, the Urban Business Connection and most famously, the Small Minority Business Policy Roundup, which engages more than 200 stakeholders to foster a more inclusive business ecosystem.

In 2023, Kev was appointed as the Director of Marketing and Messaging at the RISE Together Innovation Institute, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s brand and expanding its impact, with a strong emphasis on the county’s narrative study on poverty.

Founder of KJ Management Firm, Kev has been empowering leaders since 2018 through strategic marketing and advocacy. In 2020, he expanded the firm to include civic engagement by launching ICEA, which supports nontraditional candidates and provides online advocacy training courses through the ImPower Academy.

In 2021 Kev helped develop the advocacy component of Franklin County’s community action agency as outlined in their strategic plan, and in 2022, Kev played a pivotal role in electing Shaquille Alexander as Franklin County’s youngest non-legislative candidate, who is now the Treasurer of Whitehall, Ohio.
